Jim started his Law Enforcement career in 1978 with the Bettsville Police Department, Bettsville, Ohio. He then joined the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Tiffin, Ohio in 1981 as a Deputy on the Road Patrol Unit. Jim worked in the Detective Division for many years which was his great passion.
Throughout his Law Enforcement career, Jim greatly enjoyed working hand in hand with other Law Enforcement Departments, participating in undercover work, and training other Law Enforcement Officers. He received numerous accommodations for his dedication, including the Distinguished Service Award.
In 1992, Jim was instrumental in starting the Seneca County Drug Task Force and creating the still current alliance with the Metrich Drug Task force, which today includes 10 Ohio Counties along with Federal and State Law Enforcement. Seneca County continues to be a part of the Metrich Drug Task Force today, promoting a Community Policing philosophy approach to task force operations.
In 2001, Jim retired as a Lieutenant in charge of the Detective Division and is still dedicating his life to Law Enforcement.
